What is Aave?

AAVE is the governance token of Aave, the largest decentralised lending protocol: users deposit crypto to earn interest and borrow against their deposits. AAVE holders vote on the protocol and can stake it as a backstop that covers shortfalls if loans go bad. The maximum supply is 16 million AAVE.

How to buy Aave, step by step

Why the Aave price differs between exchanges

In our minute-by-minute measurement the gap between the highest and lowest venue averaged about 0.058 percent, against about 0.025 percent for Bitcoin. It went above half a percent in about seven minutes out of every thousand, and reached about 1.5 percent at its widest.

What moves the Aave price

The wider crypto market, and in AAVE’s case its own news too. In our hourly composite, AAVE moved with Bitcoin at a correlation of about 0.63, where 1 would mean identical moves, and its moves were more than twice the size of Bitcoin’s.
