What is Sui?

Sui is a proof-of-stake blockchain for smart contracts, built around the Move programming language. It processes transactions that do not touch shared data in parallel, which is how it keeps fees low and confirmations fast. SUI is the native coin: it pays network fees and is staked with validators to secure the network.

The maximum supply is 10 billion SUI, released over time on a published schedule, so the amount in circulation is still growing.
