What is TRON?
TRON is a blockchain for payments and smart contracts, and TRX is its native asset. Its main real-world use is moving stablecoins: TRON is one of the largest networks for USDT transfers, because transfers are fast and cheap. A block arrives about every 3 seconds, produced by 27 Super Representatives that TRX holders elect by voting with staked TRX.
Instead of paying a fee per transaction, users can stake TRX for energy and bandwidth, the resources transactions consume. Fees that are paid in TRX are burned.
How to buy TRON, step by step
- Pick an exchange. Every exchange we track lists TRX. Compare fees, funding options and whether it serves your country in our exchange reviews.
- Create and verify your account. Regulated exchanges ask for identity documents before you can deposit fiat.
- Fund the account. A bank transfer or a stablecoin deposit usually costs far less than a card payment.

Why the TRON price differs so little between exchanges
In our minute-by-minute measurement the gap between the highest and lowest venue averaged about 0.045 percent, and unlike almost every other large asset it never went above half a percent. The widest gap we recorded was about 0.35 percent.

What moves the TRON price
TRX behaves differently from most large coins. In our hourly composite it moved with Bitcoin at a correlation of only about 0.32 and its moves were about half the size of Bitcoin’s. Demand for TRX is partly tied to how much USDT moves on the TRON network, not only to the mood of the market. The funding rates on this page show whether traders are paying to be long or short right now.
